About SARAH PABST
I was born in June 84 in Germany and since 2003 I am a student of Fine Arts and Spanish (Master of Education) at the Universities of Cologne and Wuppertal.
While traveling through Central America in 2005 I got interested in documentary photography. From 2006 till 2007 I spent a half year in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I worked as a journalist for the german magazine BYM while doing an internship at Prensa de Frente, a local internet newspaper and news agency.
Since then I have returned several times, not only to Argentina, but also to Brasil, where I started with a long term project in the favela Complexo Sao Carlos in Rio de Janeiro.
In Israel, I met the photographer Ziv Koren, who has influenced my work and helped me to improve my skills.
From november 2009 until february 2010 I went to Bolivia with a scolarship which allowed me to realize my final thesis in photography, covering the upcoming elections and the role of bolivian women. In the same time I met Marco Vernaschi, who's work has inspired me a lot. In october 2010 I started a new project in Argentina on the abuse of Paco, cocaine waste.
